I have an interview with Twinka posted here. Readers interested in Twinka might wish to read a review of her new book, What Doncha Know? About Henry Miller. The review can be found here. The place was Yosemite, California, , and Imogen Cunningham was lecturing a class on nude photography. Judy Dater was in attendance. Imogen and Twinka at Yosemite is a photograph by Judy Dater. It is considered Dater's most popular photograph and according to the photographer, was inspired by Thomas Hart Benton's painting Persephone , which portrays a voyeur observing a nude woman reclining against a tree, who had been bathing in a stream. Dater had been familiar with Benton's Persephone painting and its theme of voyeurism since her childhood, and it inspired her to attempt several earlier photos based on that theme. She has said that it "really worked" with this particular photo, because "it's a twist, given that it's two women looking at each other.
I am sooooo proud of him but his career has broken me in a way I don't know if I can piece back together. I want so much to be supportive, but since my family is gone, I find myself afraid that I will come off as needy if I ask for attention or more affection. My experience with non members has been so much more meaningful and caring. I do try to send little texts or call when I have time but not as much as he'd like. So far I have been sad most of the time.
